It is time for the very popular Labor Day Jam in Brooklyn. Five days of official carnival events that culminate with the parade of the bands/revelers on "D'Parkway"; this festival is so well known around the World by those who love to participate in Caribbean-style Carnival celebrations.
The following events are the official events that are sponsored mainly by WIADCA (the official body responsible for the carnival) however, there are many fetes that are promoted all over Brooklyn during this period. Many will be finding a 'fete of choice' to have a good time all week long and especially for the weekend activities.
This year WACK radio 90.1 FM radio, out of San Fernando Trinidad, will host their yearly Carnival get together (aka 'Meet & Greet') at Melanie's Restaurant in Brooklyn. The address is 1326 Newkirk Avenue (between Argyle Rd. & Rugby Rd. Brooklyn, NY 11230. See Map Below:

Caribbean Woodstock 08/29/2013 This night is being advertised as the biggest Caribbean Unity Event and as such one expects to see a variety of singers from across the Caribbean Diaspora. The following are some of the singers expected to perform:

Brass Fest 08/30/2013
This is the night, the event, that should shake Brooklyn. This one is billed as "Brass Fest" and even though it is not the same as the 'Brassorama' that once took place in Trinidad it will still be a time to fete and play 'yuh self'.

Panorama 08/31/2013 Any Carnival that wants to be known as a West Indian Carnival must have a steel band playing music. Having said that, everyone who loves Carnival loves Soca, Calypso, and of course the Panorama competition. The following bands are listed to perform on Saturday night at the Brooklyn Museum.

Dimanche Gras 09/01/2013 Sunday night is Dimanche Gras and with that, the Carnival gets ready to usher in J'ouvert morning and the street revelry. The Dimanche Gras will feature many facets of the Carnival and some special performances by various guest artists. Following is a listing of some of the entertainment personalities.
