Talk about a clean sweep... Lornette Nedd-Reid aka Fya Empress won the Road March competition in St. Vincent for Carnival 2012 to finish one of her best years in the business as it relates to her competition prowess. This is a clear indication of the impact of Trinidad on her musical style. Fya Empress lives in Tobago and has the Trini flavor in her music.
She has done it all and has succeeded in grand style this year. To recount... she won the NWAC Calypso Queen Competition in Trinidad then went on to win the Ragga Soca, Calypso Crown and Road March in St. Vincent. She also placed second in the Soca Monarch competition in St. Vincent finishing behind Skinny Fabulous.
Congratulations to Fya Empress and all Tobagonians will welcome her back to her home after her successful stint in her native land, St. Vincent.
