Here’s something different that dropped for Crop Over 2012: “Zouk Wid Me.” When I first saw the title, I honestly wondered if we were really getting a Zouk track for Crop Over. After all, Zouk is traditionally tied to Martinique, Guadeloupe, Dominica, and St. Lucia—not Barbados. Curiosity kicked in, so I took a listen… and I liked it.
It’s unmistakably Zouk, but the theme aligns perfectly with Soca’s core: dancing, enjoyment, and pure vibes. The tempo isn’t fast‑paced; instead, it carries a smooth, steady groove that party lovers can appreciate in any fete. So for Crop Over 2012, come Zouk with Mr. DJ—all he’s asking for is a dancing partner.
