Point Fortin Borough Day Celebrations 2023 Calendar of Events

Schedule of events for the Month of April
The Point Fortin Borough Day Celebration is back, and it is worth celebrating! Following a two-year hiatus because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Carnival outside of the Carnival season returns. Everything related to the community of Point Fortin will be showcased as is evident in the Calendar of events. Having said that, it should be noted that competitions related to traditional carnivals will be the highlight for many attending the celebrations. Steelband and Calypso competitions, J'ouvert, and the sounds of the Point Fortin Iron Giants Rhythm Section will add to the euphoria experienced by denizens and returning citizens alike.

The theme for this year's celebration, celebrating 43 years as a Borough, is "Building a Future, Creating a Legacy". When you travel to Point Fortin, don't just party and have fun, explore the culture and community. Maybe, just maybe, you may find a place desirable to relocate to and celebrate the community's diversity.

Point Fortin, for the curious, is the smallest borough in Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in southwestern Trinidad and is about 44 minutes via taxi from San Fernando. The distance is 23.4 miles from San Fernando, and one should remember that the time consideration is for free-flowing traffic.

Now that we have moved past the heights of the covid-19 Pandemic please be cognizant of the fact that large, crowded places can be the cause of transmission of any communicable virus. Protect yourself at all times. It is OK to have a good time but always remember to protect yourself and your loved ones from the seen and unseen threats out there.

The following is a message from the Mayor of Point Fortin, "Her Worship the Mayor, Alderman Saleema Thomas":
We are proud to present our Calendar of Events for Point Fortin Borough Celebrations 2023! This year Point Fortin will be celebrating its 43rd Anniversary as a Borough under the theme "Building a Future, Creating a Legacy."

We look forward to welcoming you to Point Fortin - the preferred place to live, work, invest and recreate!
