No one writes a song like David Rudder, no one can deliver such beautiful writings in music like David Rudder. He is a very special talent and we, as citizens of Trinidad & Tobago, are blessed to have him in our presence. I was thinking about Trinidadians and West Indians who are living in foreign lands who yearn for the homeland. These are difficult times and I know that this song will tug at your homeland's heartstrings. When you listen to the song, and you begin to smile and even cry, try to remember the good things about home (especially the good ole days). David Rudder is a master storyteller, and he does it beautifully with 'Song For A Lonely Soul'. "Song For A Lonely Soul" is a beautiful song in so many ways. One can go back in time and remember eating sweet Rose mangoes when you hear David sing, "sticky mango juice running down my naked chest". We all love Soca music and listen to Lord Shorty's creation daily but who thought about, "Soca music take me, take me, take me back to my island"... every day, this is so true. You can't help but admire David Rudder's talent, listen to the song and remember, let him take you home.
Now, just think about someone attempting to do justice to Rudder's songs. This is not an easy task to achieve. King David's style is unique but if you are going to do one of the master's songs you need to bring something different. We think we found such an artist and performance. The visuals and the slowed-down musical vibe leave a haunting vibe. The artist is Gyazette and we think you will love his tribute to King David Rudder.
