Soca love songs don't necessarily have to be about a man or a woman falling in love but it could be about love in general or just love for a fellow human being. So many humans are cruel to each other but love is not so often shown or said, 'I love you simply because you are you'! This song is a conversation from the heart for those women who are hurting because another human did not understand what true love is... let's keep hope alive. As of 29 Sept 2021, there were 264 rape survivors waiting to speak to a therapist in Trinidad and Tobago. 110 of that number were children. This song is for the women in our lives, all of them. The song is called “Oshun” in reverence to the divine feminine in us all. Through “Oshun”, the LOVE OVER EVERYTHING campaign was launched to raise money for organizations that assist rape survivors in the Caribbean.
