Savannah Grass | RBTT Exodus | Panorama Finals 2019

Sometimes you need to step in crap to make a point; and, when it comes to Savannah Grass, the song, we will say that it was the most played song on the streets of Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival 2019!
Now if you think that the popularity of this song meant good results for Kes and Pelham/Exodus, then you are sadly mistaken.

It was a Stage March, not a Road March and when it came to Panorama it took a court ruling to get this song to the finals... looks like "De Guyanese Buck" pissed on this song! A song that will become a classic... for sure. Then again we are here to celebrate Pelham Goddard's brilliance as a musical arranger!

This  post brings the only rendition of Savannah Grass played for Trinidad and Tobago's National Panorama Finals Competitions. We enjoyed listening to Savannah Grass played by Exodus but it was not enough and it was felt by many that the band was punished for challenging the system resulting in a last place position.

There will always be gnashing of teeth (show of anger and despair) when results are announced. This is the same for every singing competition held in Trinidad and Tobago. Having said that, we are not judges and most of us don't have the talent to judge these performance but hell man, just listening to the music... they did not deserve last place. One has to ascertain the the system doesn't like to challenged! In the end, you the listener, the fan of steel band music will be the final arbiters providing the peoples decision! We will take what we get...

Our goal here is two fold, celebrate Exodus and their musical rendition of Pelham's arrange and to let everyone know that we celebrate Savannah Grass as the unofficial Road March for Carnival 2019 regardless of the judging system that awarded the title otherwise.  We celebrate Pelham and rbTT Exodus... enjoy the vibes!
