This is new music for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2019. The song is entitled "Tac Tac" sung by Kavita Ramkissoon. This is a production of Rishi Mahato of Maha Productions. We have not been posting the new Chutney Soca music releases but intend to do some catching up starting with this very infectious song.
If you grew up in Trinidad, Tobago or in the Caribbean Basin then you may have come across 'bachac' and 'Tac Tac'. Both have strong claws but when the 'Tac Tac' holds on to something prying it away from the bite may separate the head from the body. Kavita's take on this song brings back memories of these incredible creatures. Kudos to the production team for a song that brought us witty lyrical content, good vocals, and sweet Chutney Soca vibes.

The Chutney Soca song "Tac Tac" was written by the singer herself with the assistance of Rishi Mahato. It was inspired by her 'aajie' (ie. grandmother). This all happened because of childhood experiences. As a younger person, growing up in Trinidad, Kavita used to sing along to rhythms coming from the dholak, dhantal and harmonium; it was those past experiences, using catchy lyrics, that you hear once that left lasting memories. Now, because of those memories, one can sing along to that childhood melody even to this day.
Kavita decided to record her own version of "Tac Tac" with a comical twist to it; the intention was, and is, to make her fans and listeners in general pause and laugh a little. We hope that you like and share her 2019 Chutney Soca song entitled, "Tac Tac".
