There is a time and place for everything. Songs like this one will be released regardless of what anyone has to say. Fans across the Caribbean basin will party hard to this song regardless of the lyrical content. As a matter of fact, most people don't even pay attention to the lyrics of some of these songs. It is time that people grade their music based on the vibe, vocals and lyrical content!

Now, if you point out that we have been campaigning for better lyrical content then why have we posted this song? Before we get to that let's go the formal route. This is new music for Carnivals in 2019. The song is entitled, "Pick Your Position" sung by Motto x Skinny Fabulous.

These two singers are well known in the Caribbean and North American Caribbean centric areas. If you love Soca then these names are well known. The song carries an infectious rhythm that will surely attract a youthful audience. In times past, it was a given that the sexual nature of carnival dances was and continues to be driven by males. Women become tools and a means to an end in these party and street dance festivities. Indeed, some women encourage the decadence, and having said that we have to ask, does that mean we have to continue like this? This is not the case with the costumed bands! Yes, there are some, often times stupefied from alcoholic drinks, who behave badly. Times have changed and surely we all can do better!

New music, coming out of Trinidad, is providing some hope. The recently released "Want" and "10X Over" Riddims have songs that are well written, sensual but not crass! We know we can do better but will we? Keep in mind that when you sing crass songs those songs will be seasonal in nature; is that your goal? We will keep hope alive!
