Waiting On The Stage | Machel Montano ft. Badjohn Republic | Triindad & Tobago 2016

Open your windows and call out to your neighbors and let them know that Machel Montano has released his Power (aka Energy Soca) Soca track for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2016. This one is entitled "Waiting On The Stage" and features Badjohn Republic. 'Waiting On De Stage' is hotter than ah Chulha; prepare to Shell-Down (credit the Spice Isle) fêtes for Carnival 2016!

Kudos for this production goes to Badjohn Republic and Precision Productions. The musical vibe is hot like the midday Caribbean Sun creating a sizzling atmosphere that is just right to 'mash up de place' (take it easy, we mean fêteing and having a damn good time)! It will be fire on 'de stage'; now, no one has an excuse not to go out, jump up and  have a damn good time. Ent yuh know that is how it is supposed to be... pure niceness.

This music release should shut up all the critics who have been bemoaning the lack of Power Soca music releases. This one is good for a dozen Power Soca releases. Press play and pump up the volume and just have a damn good time.

Please join the conversation and let us know what you think about the song. The comment feature of this posting is waiting for your interesting comments. Enjoy the vibez!

Music Release Notes:
Time is a precious commodity and lately, it seems we've been running out of it. Patience itself, a distant relative of time, becomes withered as the moments fade away into oblivion. The hands of the clock nevertheless draw nearer to their destination, to the Carnival, to our season of excitement and heightened anticipation, all toward the promise of a perfect climax.

The people of the republic have waited too long. They have chosen their time, their space, their place of freedom, and it is the stage. No more waiting. The time is now. The place is here.

And now we look to our freedom fighters Machel Montano and Badjohn Republic, who fight for our right to embrace our emancipation within the Carnival. They will lead us to our liberty, to the performance of our lives. They will lead us across the great stage in celebration.

The song will mash up because is Machel. But that doh mean is not crap. Same way we know that Big People Party was really road mach in 2014, this will be road march in name only.

My understanding of the role of Power Soca music is to empower people to 'jump up and have a damn good time on the road'. The song sticks to the plan and if Machel has his way the message in the song will translate into mayhem on the streets and especially on the stage. I get the feeling that you measure 'Power Soca' lyrics with that of Calypso of Ole... this is not David Rudder time... time has moved on and the style is different. The lyrical content is all about getting the right hook with music to empower people to jump up and have fun....

Time to move on and get with the times senor Bitter!
