This is new music from the very popular artist known as Benjai for Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival 2015. The song is entitled "Phenomenal" and features additional vocals from H2O Phlo.
This is the second release posted from the 'Kan Kan Riddim' and this song also did not initially impress me however, it has received the most hits on this riddim to date. I have to admit that after listening to the song a few times I really like it.
My initial thoughts were not positive but I have to admit that it has a vibe... I like it, hell yes I like it! Maybe it is because Benjai is a very unique and "Phenomenal singer". The jury is still out on this riddim but Benjai's song has a place with me even though some of the comments have been negative. Let's see how it unfolds as the Carnival season gets ready to uplift the spirit of the people.
Music Blast Release Notes:
The essence of this riddim is found in the rich mystery of African music. From the moment the riddim begins, it fills you with excitement and an instant vibe.
The name Kan Kan originates from the Kan Kan city of Guinea. Guinea hosts a wide variety of ethnicities which all contribute to the complex, yet soothing melodies of this AdvoKit Productions riddim.
The Kan Kan Riddim is all about the serenade and an innate emotional intensity. And when you think the riddim can't get any sweeter, you are greeted to the introduction of seductive strums of the guitar. This introduction signifies the relatively recent infusion of the guitar into Guinea's musical culture.
Sekon Sta, Flipo, Benjai featuring H20 Phlo, Darnella of Roy Cape Allstars, Olatunji and special feature King Bubba and Lead Pipe all add their unique spin to the riddim but one thing is assured, AdvoKit Productions' KanKan Riddim will captivate you.
