On The Road | JUMO | Guyana Mashramani/Trinidad 2014

They call it Mash (short for Mashramani) in Guyana when the nation celebrates Republic Day but it can also be looked upon as Guyana's Carnival celebration for 2014. "Mash" takes place on February 23 culminates with the street parade that is simply another version of Carnival in the Caribbean basin. This year the reigning 2012/2013 Soca Monarch of Guyana, whose sobriquet is Jumo, gives the region an uptempo song entitled "On The Road".

Jumo's song is a fast paced Soca track that celebrates parading and partying on the road for Mash. Of course this song should have people dancing and having a good time in the parties/fetes that take place before the official festival day aka "Mash" when  the street parade of the bands take place. The song has potential and adds to the flavor of the music releases for Trinidad and Tobago's carnival. Take a listen to Guyana's reigning Soca Monarch and let us know if you think he was one that could regain the title of Guyana's Soca Monarch for Mash 2014.
