Optimus Riddim | Various Artists | T'dad and Tobago 2014

If you were waiting for something different something that changes your mood and make you take notice then take a listen to the songs on the Optimus Riddim. Today we present a Zouk flavored Soca riddim that should be of interest to any music lover. The music has color and when I say color I mean sweet musical flavor; someone (Tikreyol) mentioned on islandmix.com that there is "More use of Congolese Soukous NOT Zouk" used in the riddim. I don't know much about Congolese Soukous so I will leave that up to those more informed to comment. This is not a riddim that is dominated by the drum set (as is the case with modern day Soca) but there are other musical instruments (especially the guitar) that adds elements missing in much of today's electronic compositions.

Don't beat you chest too much because the Dominicans have been living this music for years. If you have heard Zouk before then you would understand that the music is very similar to Soca. This vibe explores the beauty of both genres, Zouk and Soca! The Zouk elements add flavor and brighten up the music... enjoy the vibe that the Dominicans love so much!

The music is a production of Optimus ProductionsTT Ltd. and on this vibe you have Collis Duranty singing a track entitled "Pave The Road With Love"; Asten Isaac's track is entitled "Lean";  Sexy Tricia's track is entitled "Doh Stop Meh" and finally we have the very popular Benjai singing a track entitled "Dance". Listen to the songs and enjoy something different, something sweet, something to make you dance/parlance with joy and exuberance - Enjoy the Vibez!

Press Release:
Trinidad, WI: "Optimus Is The Only Way To Be - The Optimus Riddim Is Proof."
In any state of reflection, the thought of being Optimus is prominent in the minds of many. Embracing the Latin word not only to brand his studio but the name of his most recent musical project, Jesse "Chunky" John of Optimus Productions introduces you to the Optimus Riddim. The riddim according to John, encompasses the best of his talents as a producer and musical mind.

In explaining what this riddim and the name means to him, the talented producer makes reference to Optimus Prime of Transformers. Just as the leader Optimus Prime, John is brave, passionate and wise, among other attributes which are all represented in his music. Just as the character continues to be relevant for generations, John's aim for his music is the same, "My aim is to create music that will live for generations" said John.!

On the riddim that he categorizes as "Island Music", John is joined by Trisha Hamilton (Sexy Trisha), Rodney Le Blanc (Benjai), Collis Duranty and Asten Isaac. The four talented Trinbagonian artistes through their songs, "Duh Stop Meh", "Dance", "Pave The Road With Love" and "Lean" respectively add memorable contributions to the Optimus Riddim. With live bass from John and guitars by Eugane Bass, the zouk flavoured riddim will resonate in the minds and hearts of music lovers worldwide.
