This is new music from the very popular Rodney Le Blanc aka "Benjai"; for this one Benjai invites you to 'come out and play' on this very rhythmic/joyous musical 'back in the day' vibe. Kudos to Shawn "Mr. Roots" on the creation of this throw back joyous/fun filled riddim. The name of the song is entitled "Come Out To Play" and it is on the aptly named "Vintage Riddim". This riddim already made its rounds for Grenada Carnival 2013. Benjai is simply taking advantage of an excellent vibe and to help showcase it for Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival 2014.
Now even though I like the song, and more so the riddim, I have to say that I had some difficulty with Benjai's enunciation on this one. I had to listen to the song more than one time to fully come to terms with his diction; however, that does not mean to say that I did not enjoy the song! The vibe is right and that was all that was needed to give this on the thumbs up. I still don't think that this will become a big hit for Benjai but it is a good offering on a sweet riddim.
