The former Calypso Monarch of Trinidad and Tobago has Soca in his blood and today we feature his latest Groovy Soca release entitled "Innocent". The man who calls himself "The Last Badjohn of Calypso" is showing is lighter side, yet still awesome talent, with this very laid back vibe done in the Soca genre for Carnival 2014.
This is an interesting offering from Kurt and as is the norm for this artist, he is always sending a message in his songs. Indeed nothing has changed and his lyrics tell a story; initially, you are taken in by the sweet Soca vibe and then you get caught up in the story telling attributes of a fantastic story telling that is the trait of a true and tested Calypsonian!
This song is self explanatory and the name of the song is very appropriate. Kurt exposes the beguiling behavior of a young lady in a party. He tries his case in music and dance in the party. In the end he exposes the guilt of a seemingly deceptive innocence, a femme fatale, on the dance floor. The verdict is in and the result is sweet Soca Music from this multi talented artiste.
