Machel Montano Wins The 2012 Road March Title!

I guess this was expected and by Monday evening there was a clear indication that Machel Montano was on his way to achieving the triple feat. Now he adds the Road March Title to his list of achievements for Carnival 2012.

Hail to Mr. Triple M - Machel did it all this year! Did you doubt that he would accomplish this feat? If you did you were definitely in the  minority! In the end the Machel Machine vanquished the antics of performing artiste Iwer George.

I guess Iwer George is not a happy man today - there is always next year Iwer! Everyone thought that Fay Ann would give Machel a run for the title with Miss Behave but as you can see Machel simply dominated the race and won in a very convincing manner - hail to the King of Soca!

An interesting note here is that both Road March Road-mixes taking the first two spots were done by Precision Productions out of Palmiste, Trinidad. Kasey Phillips is the son of Kenny Phillips who owns KMPMUSIC Labs. They really did a number on the rest of the competing companies out there... way to go guys!

Here are the results for the Road March competition 2012:
  1. Machel Montano - "Pump Yuh Flag"  -  233
  2. Fay Ann Lyons Alvarez  - Miss Behave  -  96
  3. Iwer George - No Pain (Jab)  -  80
The judging points/areas for the Road March Competition were as follows:

  • Adam Smith Square (Port Of Spain)
  • Picadilly Greens (Port Of Spain)

Listed below are the songs that were played the most in order of popularity. The margin of victory for Machel Montano was a landslide. This was not an ordinary victory - he ran amok and ran away with the triple crown!
