For that reason and because we have not posted this sub-genre of Soca for some time, we present a Chutney Soca song titled "What Yuh Want" by the artist known as Jo'E. The problem is that most people caught up in these relationships don't know how to 'walk away' from a complicated relationship that simply drains their energy. What is the answer, or how should you deal with such a situation? Well, Jo'e has the experience, and you might want to check out his advice in song. So who is Jo'e? He is a rising star in the Chutney Soca scene. For those not familiar with the sub-genre of Soca, Chutney Soca is a fusion of Soca/Calypso music with Indian influences, featuring instruments like the dholak, harmonium, tabla, and dhantal. The songs are sung in English, sprinkled with some local Indian linguistics.
“What Yuh Want” is a song that showcases Jo’E’s vocal talent and charisma. We think that the song needed another minute, taking it from two to three minutes long. Having said that, Jo'E was able to deliver his message; the song is about a girl who is not satisfied with her boyfriend and wants more from him. Jo’E sings in a playful and witty way, asking her what she wants and teasing her with his offers. The song has a catchy chorus and a lively rhythm that will make you want to dance.
