Bunji Garlin vs. Micah Teja: A Showdown for the 2024 Carnival Road March Title

It's carnival Tuesday and masqueraders are anxious to hit the streets to the sound of sweet Soca music. This is the moment and along with the competition for band of the year the Roadmarch competition is also the talk of the town. Who will emerge winner? Many Power Soca songs contend for the Roadmarch title but two have found favor with the people: "DNA" by Mical Teja and "Carnival Contract" by Bunji Garlin. This is going to be fun!

Bunji Garlin, a seasoned veteran of the Soca world, has unveiled his newest creation just in time for the 2024 festivities. ‘Carnival Contract’ pulsates with irresistible energy, masterfully blending riddim vibes with Garlin’s unmistakable raspy vocals. With this track poised to conquer playlists and fete circuits, Garlin’s reign as a carnival kingpin seems all but assured.

Bunji Garlin has been there and won it all along with Machel Montano and Skinny Fabulous. If he prevails with his carnival contract this will be his first solo win. Bunji's song is full of vibe and has the added advantage of people figuratively signing contracts as they vibe to the song.

Everyone has a favorite song, and both songs are deserving but only one will emerge as winner. The masqueraders, DJ's and bandleaders will be the final arbiter of the winning song. One of these talented singers will emerge victorious, leaving behind a trail of euphoric dancers and memories etched in the annals of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival history. The judges will tabulate and announce the winner on Ash Wednesday.

Whether you’re jamming to the infectious beats of ‘Carnival Contract’ or swaying to the genetic rhythm of ‘DNA’, one thing is certain: the spirit of Carnival lives on, fueled by the magic of Soca music and the indomitable spirit of the islands.
