For the love of culture and carnival, we need to keep jammin' on! Now let's deal with reality, in Trinidad & Tobago Covid-19 is rearing its ugly side with numerous deaths taking place daily. Now, unless you have been living under a rock, you must have learned that the World is starting to close down again because of a new strain of the virus that was recently coded as Omicron. We are not in a good place, Trinidad is not in a good place regarding active vaccinations. I don't have to tell you what comes next, but for those who think otherwise, here is a dose of reality to put things in perspective... No Carnival for 2022!You can get upset but the reality is that life is too precious to put fetting before doing the right thing. Recently people were beaming with joy with Miami hosting the West Indian style carnival. We thought it was the wrong thing to do but that is Florida! So don't expect Trinidad & Tobago or the rest of the Caribbean region to be hosting any street carnival celebrations. Now, will there be cluster party events? Yes, the United States has proven that these events are possible. So if you are the type who must go out and party then the US is the place to be. If you have been taking note you would have noticed that many of the well-known Soca artists are basically living in and working in the US traveling to various party events in States that link to West Indian style party events.
We think that you will be fine. Don't overthink it, get your Soca mixes and listen daily, pump up the volume at home and enjoy your Soca music. Use the time to develop better habits and learn more about your West Indian culture. We are going to post music with notes like these to help keep you engaged.
So in the interim, while we bide our time, "Keep Jammin' On" and continue to vibe with us as we present some of the sweetest Soca sounds for your listening pleasure. Today we style with Kes and Dj Private Ryan... For the love of Culture, doh stop and "Keep Jammin' On"!
