OMG... Ok, take a deep breath of air and breathe out! Nice, now let's say this out front if you are a prude and one to cast aspersions then don't listen to this song entitled, 'Soca Sex'! Why? Simply put, it is raw and has language that will make any lady blush. So be aware and be warned that the first song has raw and unfiltered lyrical content. These two versions debuted a few months now but 'Soca Sex' was not heard on the radio, and for good reasons. Some will say, rude, some will say nasty but we post them both here to get your feedback.
Let's do this, today we feature two songs; hold on, two versions of the same song, but one with raw uncensored lyrical content and the other a bit more palatable for mainstream radio and general listening. We need your feedback regarding the songs and your opinion regarding the intent of the songwriter and producers.
'Soca Sex'... why 'Soca Sex'? That is the million-dollar question that needs an answer. I would have liked to be a 'fly on the wall' when this song was recorded. The songwriter, Kerwin Du Bois, is one little devil. He was mischievous and did not hold back on the intent of his lyrical content. This was raw and some would say 'nasty' indeed. This is not just making love to the sound of Soca, this version was long overdue for many Soca music addicts who wanted more... boi did Kerwin deliver! I am not one to mess with a person's creative moments so for me it is hands off this one. Soca music can be suggestive in nature but this one does a road runner zooming past what is considered palatable for radio and the listening public.
'Soca Love'... phew, this is the clean-up job done by Kerwin, Jonny Blaze, and Captain John. Now hearing Kerwin sing making love to the sound of Soca... ahh, what a breath of fresh air! It took a little time to get over the lyrics in 'Soca Sex' but this version hits the sweet spot. I ain't mad with Kerwin... this is niceness! If you are a fan of Groove Soca, well 'you just got laid'... ahem! So let us know, 'Soca Sex vs Soca Love', which one is your groove and why?
