We continue our look back to the good ole days and found a listing of tracks on Mix-Cloud. One of those tracks had a link to SoundCloud which we favor for blog posts. This mix is volume two done by Dj Shane Talon. Unfortunately, volume 1 does not have a link to play the songs. Shane has a number of Soca mixes from the early years with the name Millenium Soca. There are four mixes in that series spanning the years 2000 to 2010. Our goal is to present them here for your listening pleasure.
Today, however, to continue with the "In Search of Soca" series, we give you Shane Talons 'Old School Soca mix' from the '80s and '90s. We think you will really like this mix, Here is a personal note, Sugar Aloes and Baron sound really sweet in this mix. We hope you enjoy this offering and look forward to your comments.
This SoundCloud mix has a download button if you want the mix to carry along in your personal music player for offline listening.
Addendum:
The Dj did not provide a tracklist for this mix but we wanted to post it to help our followers who 'want to know! So often we hear a song and can sing a line or two from it but may not be able to recall the name of the song or, sometimes, the name of the singer. I went to work listening to fix that problem. I was stumped with one track, Doye Doye or Doi Doi in some circles. My good friend and radio jock Mr. Desmond out of Trinidad solved the naming of the track and the singers thereby completing this task. Now you have it all... niceness, that is what Sokah2Soca is all about!
