Brass Bacchanal Queen's Park Savannah | Trinidad 2019

The North Park of the Queens Park Savannah came alive on Carnival Monday night with live Brass. This effort was a reminder of what carnival was like in the past when the Brass-O-Rama competition was one of the biggest carnival events. This is a good sign that those who are in charge are trying to make improvements and provide alternative carnival events for fans to enjoy. This is a good thing!

The bands competed for a first prize of TT$100,000.00. Not bad for the return of Brass as a Carnival competition. If this show is a success then we should see the re-emergence of this festival for years to come. This would also lead to the formation of new bands in the future. The prize monies would increase as the show becomes more successful.

Judging from the amount of people who attended the show there is no doubt that this show will be back next year. Planning is important and one would hope that the organizers of this show will move forward with planning for a bigger and better show next carnival. This show was a success, brass is back with a bang; pencil it in for Carnival 2020!
