We have selected a song from the 2018 Crop Over lineup. We anticipate that this song, with its cleverly written tongue-in-cheek wit, will be featured at Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2019. Jus D sings the song "Hole." Jus D penned Hole for the 'Icki Wiki Riddim' with a clever wordplay. "Hole" is a masterfully composed song that cleverly employs a double-entendre musical technique. We love it!
We applaud the lyrical content simply because there was a thought process to create some sweet, clever lyrical content. So many singers simply jump on riddims with weak lyrical content; this is not the case for 'Hole.'. The music is sweet (pay attention to the sweet guitar works on the song), but we would have loved a little more open sound/prominence coming out of the hi-hat on the vibe.
Lord, have mercy! Perhaps there's another flaw in assigning blame? Indeed, creative writing can produce lyrical content that provokes thought. However, when you convey a single idea while encouraging others to explore alternative viewpoints, it signifies that you have skillfully crafted a captivating composition that captivates the audience's attention. This is a teaser, and as part of public discourse, we must advise readers. Remind those who intend to use this excuse—it's not the same as the "the dog ate my homework" excuse! Think twice before ending up in the doghouse.

Jon Deesy (producer/DJ, HOTT 95.3 FM, Bridgetown):
“This was everywhere in Barbados—radio stations of varying formats, parties, kids’ phones, malls... you name it. At almost every major show this summer, Jus D was a headline performer. It developed into an anthem for the ladies because of the song’s message: ‘Raise your hand if you don’t need a manager / You only need a man who can manage you.’ Women latched on quickly, and from there it blew up. We all know that usually if the ladies catch on, the fellas aren't too far behind.”
