Earthquake, building shake and we have lift off of Calypso and Soca songs for Carnival 2019 in Trinidad and Tobago. This event that took place in along the Northern coast of Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada will be felt for Carnival 2019 more so because we were fortunate not to report any casualties.

An earthquake of this magnitude usually takes a toll on life but fortunately that is not the case for this event. One event (caught on video) is that one of the islands off the coast of Trinidad needs to be re-mapped because a chunk of  it broke off and disappeared in the ocean. There is much for the people's reporters/narrators of our history to pen and bring to life.

The fear is over (for now) but Calypsonians and Soca singers may already have lines for songs written with the following key words/phrases in play:  Building Shake (oops that was already done by Maximius Dan in 2005) so let's choose some other words/phrases... Earthquake; Island Tremble; De Whole Place Shake; Shake De Ground; Cars Jumping, Jumping; Buildings Crumbling...

Just watch this space for the tsunami of songs on this subject. Now having said that, we have to be thankful that the ocean cooperated and no tsunami warnings were issued for the area.
