Cloud 9 is an excellent song that is receiving a lot of attention in Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival 2015. It goes without saying that if Devon Martin, aka Lyrikal, can bring his "A" game to the Groovy Soca Monarch Competition then maybe the Soca loving Caribbean community in NYC will have something special to celebrate - Lyrikal crowned Groovy Soca Monarch. However, judging from his performance in the semi-final round of competition I can say that he has a lot of ground to cover.
This post was created to show the support that his adoring fans in New York City have for their friend and colleague. I have to say that it would be a wonderful finish if Lyrikal call pull this off. I am personally supporting Destra Garcia but that does not mean that I am not supporting Lyrikal. He is very talented and he has an excellent song. The problem is that of execution. Lyrikal can't be running across the stage and become winded to the point that his vocal performance suffers. He has to sing his song and avoid shouting as if he is performing in the Power Soca Category (Yes, they shout!). What does he have to do to pull this off... he has to be near perfect! I wish him well...

The Caribbean American Entertainment Industry in New York got together and with the help of the team in Trinidad and Tobago and Synergy TV to surprise Lyrikal with special dedication video. The video featured DJs, promoters, artiste, photographers and radio presenter, all who have either worked with or have been inspired by the work of Devon Lyrikal Martin. The message in the video was very clear, to let him and the rest of the world know that his New York family is supporting him 1,000,000%.
