Tht's the message from reigning National Calypso Monarch Roderick "Chucky" Gordon for Carnival 2015. In the face of marital infidelity, financial woes and legal battles Chucky suggests finding an escape inside the festivities of the season.
"Everybody needs rest, from the problems we face every day come on leh we jam away, and leh we have a time," he sings in his trademark tone on the De Red Boys produced track.
The "Doh Take It On' single is the latest collaboration between the Laventille-born singer and the Bajan super production group. These days everything they touch turns to gold. Judging from the buzz already generated by the song, which is only scheduled for official release today (Wednesday), it's clear it has that Midas touch.
"Doh Take It On is the anthem for 2015, we're not letting anything or anyone stop us or slow our march and sometimes we need that reminder that things aren't always as grim as they appear," Gordon said.
The versatile performer praised De Red Boys for the work on the track which was written by Jason "Shaft Vibes" Bishop. He previously worked with the production duo on his hit singles "I Never", "Anything I Want" and "Blazin'".
"You don't leave De Red Boys studio until you are 100% satisfied with the product. The professionalism and attention to detail they put into every track is undeniable," he said.
