Soca Taking Control | Blair | Trinidad & Tobago Carnival 2015

This is one of the new style Soca Music done by the artist known as Blair for Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival 2015. This style is different but still retains the Soca beat that has it listed as 'Soca Music'! The song is entitled "Soca Taking Control".

This is not typical Carnival music and should find its way in the club scene before any feted DJ takes the chance to play this one in a true carnival style feting arena. I have my doubts that the radio jocks will play this song. However, it will be played in the club scene and it should do well in the European circuit. I don't believe that Trinidad and Tobago carnival revelers are ready for this style of Soca when feting.

I see this song being played in the clubs but a lot of standing around if played in  a carnival fete. Let's see how this one plays out. Kudos to Mical Teja and his creativity and taking the chance to deliver something different for music lovers and especially Soca music lovers.

While I'm all for the progression of music, and especially Soca music - I have to say that I'm not a fan of this EDM/techno fusion Soca. It's starting to sound too much like mainstream music, and once again European styles making it's way into our music.

Soca is slowly losing its touch.
