Just when you thought the race for the control of the road on Carnival Monday and Tuesday and that Machel's "Ministry Of Road" or Bunji's "Truck On D Road" had a lock on the race... think again! Here comes "The Queen of Bacchanal", Miss Destra Garcia, with one to 'Tun Up' the high level testosterone guys with a dose of her own Power Play with a song entitled "Dutty De Road"!
"Dutty De Road" just 'dutty-up' the race for road honors for this upcoming festival - this one has serious pace and is a Power Soca gem! Guess what! Take a look at the production notes and you will see the name Kernal Roberts! Lord Kitchener's son is responsible for much of Machel Montano's road successes and he has his hand in this one. Granted he had help and was a part of the crew overseeing this production one can tell that the pace and the work on the traps has Kernal written all over it (oh and lest us not forget he co-wrote the song with Destra).
Hey I guess by now you understand that I like this song from Destra and I believe that it was released at just the right time as we get ready for the February run up to the March Madness when Carnival blooms and lights up the streets of Port-of-Spain with a sea of humanity is radiant colors masquerading and palancing on the streets. This is a hot one from Destra - well done!
