Bunji Garlin and Jus Now have teamed up to bring you this track entitled "Truck On D Road". Now pencil this in your musical record as the Road March for Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival 2014. Everything is on the rise for Bunji after the successes of "Differentology" and especially the win at the Soul Train Awards.
The song was much anticipated and the wait appeared longer than expected but now that the track is here everything just feels right. This is indeed a wicked track but just wait for the remixes to drop; those will be Madddddddddddd! A word of advice to you... when you listen to this song you need to turn up the volume to really enjoy this in your face/slamming vibe! This one is for D'Road Warriors!

What I like about this one is that it is a production of JusNow! These guys are fantastic! JusNow is a duo of talented producers/musicans from Trinidad and the UK. The team is comprised of Sam Interface (Producer / DJ from Bristol, UK) and LAZAbeam (Percussionist / Producer from Trinidad) and when they combine their musical minds only rhythmic honey is served - that is the Jus Now vibe! I expected something really good and they did not dissapoint! If you can recall Jus Now is the team of producers who gave us the superb version of "Tun Up". That remake created musical waves in the UK! This 'big, bad, stink truck on d'road' will definitely make waves across the "Net" as the Bunji massive realize the the vibe has been dropped - damn, it is time to fete!
"Truck on D Road" should resonate well for the road worriers on Carnival day. It is quite early to be making predictions but I have a good feeling that this one will tear up fetes and do serious damage on "d'road". This may turn out to be the carnival road song for 2014 or it could simply be a teaser track to set up something bigger and better that we may not be privy to at this time. However, I have a feeling that after the remixes come into play this song will become a party/fete favorite.
Whatever takes place in the near future we must emphasize that this is Bunji time and it looks like, at least in Trinidad and Tobago, he is about to supplant Machel Montano as the "Soca King". He has variety with his music releases and the man can drop lyrics with such ease. He is yet to rival Machel with his stage presentations and his ability to get the audience involved in his performances the way Machel does... but he is on the cusp.
So what do you expect from this song? Are you expecting something special or you simply don't care... you simply want to hear more from Bunji. Rest assured that there is more to come! I am sure people can't make up their minds about which song to make their anthem because Bunji is knocking them down and dropping songs 'in ah frenzy'. I say simply load them all up and feel good that we are so lucky to be a part of this great Garlin musical journey!
