This song by Krystal Khayne entitled "Hands Up" is being promoted as 'Soca' on YouTube  and as Island Pop on Islandmix.com. I would prefer to call this simply 'Alternative Trini Vibe'. I really don't consider this Carnival music with the exception of the delivery of the vocals. I think this song and riddim would be best suited for the club scene. Maybe during the Carnival period people attending the clubs won't mind listening to this song - that is where I see this song getting played.

I could be very wrong about this but I don't think any DJ would be brave enough to drop this song in a Carnival fete! The music may have its place but I seriously doubt that this one would create any buzz for the upcoming Carnival celebration. I guess they will have to push it in the Clubs and hope that the radio station jocks are in the mood to do something differently - I doubt it very much!
