Pan In Yuh Pwefen relegated to the night shift on Wack Radio

Was it a Wacky decision to move the very popular show "Pan In Yuh Pwefen" from its Sunday afternoon slot to make way for another Soca program? Hey this is not just any Soca program... this show originates out of New York City hosted by Ian "The Goose" Eligon. Listen, I understand that WACK is getting paid to run this program from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm; in terms of finance, that is a smart business decision. However, and it must be said here, once again the National Instrument takes a backseat once again and also solidifies its painful existence and fight for a place in the national limelight.

I really don't see how this show impacts the people of Trinidad and Tobago and I am talking about the people back home. The advertisements are mostly about events taking place in the US. This show is for the International community and especially those living in the United States.  I understand business and the need to profit and to pay staff but at the same time I am simply saying what many of the fans of WACK and fans of the steelpan are afraid to say out loud.

Now don't get me wrong Pan is not dead on WACK it is simply now on the graveyard shift on Thursday nights after the Ladies Room! That is not "Pan In Yuh Pwefen"! That simply amounts to condolences to the Pan Fraternity but here is a little something if you have the time to stay up this late... Condolences are necessary at this juncture!

Pan in Trinidad and Tobago only comes alive during Carnival time. Now the last bastion of culture Wack Radio has relegated pan on its schedule. Someone needs to rethink this strategy and come up with a better time frame for this program. I will not complain about any decision to move Pan if they slot it at a decent time just don't put it so late!
