Fya Empress continues to amaze me with the music that she has released to date for SVG Carnival 2013. This song titled "Just" is her latest release and one that could be used for the SVG Calypso Monarch competition.
This song will resonate well with Trinidad and Tobago audiences for sure. The Tobago/Saint Vincent experience is paying big dividends with superb music productions this year. This one was produced by Andre Davis of 'Studiolife Productions' out of Tobago. The topic that she sings about is well known in certain communities in Trinidad. How it impacts the audiences in Saint Vincent is left to be seen. The lyrics are strong and the lady, with her controlled singing style, delivers with her vocal performance.
It should be interesting to see what kind of reception that this one receives on the various chat sites and especially the radio stations in SVG. This one gets the thumbs up from this blog. Fya Empress is simply doing it all this year and I expect her to win a few competitions in SVG. I have no doubt that her collection of songs released to date will be a 'bit much' for the rest of contenders. Regardless of the genre, Calypso or Soca, she has quality songs to keep her at the top regardless of what the others bring to the table.
Fya Empress will sweep the competitions this year! That is the prediction from this writer. I have been told that what I say here does not impact anything and that could be true but the music will speak for itself.
