This is the latest Riddim released for Vincy Mas 2013. The Riddim is titled 'New Old School Riddim' and features singers Shaunelle McKenzie, Rondy 'Luta' Mc Intosh and Tamisha Nicholls-Lewis. This is an Xpert Studio Production in collaboration with Island Network Inc. This posting features music from Tamisha, Luta and Shaunelle.
Tamisha Nichols-Lewis:
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised after listening to this song titled 'Vincy Whining Boss' sung by Tamisha. On this riddim she sounds very relaxed and in a sweet groove with the music production. I did not like her previous release titled 'Goody Goody Pt 2. However, this one sounds more like that which was originally expected from this young lady. This song gets the thumbs up... good job Tamisha/Xpert Productions.
Luta:
Legal Wine has a very sweet vibe. Indeed the music is the same but the general feel is not the same; it sounds like a song on a totally different riddim. Luta is very talented and this riddim simply suits his relaxed singing style. The lyrics are not exemplary but in tune with the carnival scene and times we live in. Of course we need to move away from 'wining on a young ting or feeling to wine on something all night'. This has been the complaint of many who listen to Soca music. Having said that, Luta's singing performance is first class.
Shaunelle McKenzie:
After listening to the first two renditions the music became a bit too familiar. However, I must admit that I was in tune with the lyrics on this track. This one has a real nice carnival is bacchanal vibe to it. In other words it is a real 'leh we have some fun tonight' vibe to it; and has a serious chipping down the road vibe. I have a good feeling that this one will do well on the fete scene.
Final Words:
OK, I will give the thumbs up to this riddim. I enjoyed listening to the music and was pleasantly surprised by the effort put in by Tamisha. Luta sounds the best overall on the riddim and Shaunelle has a nice Carnival jam on the riddim. Well done!
