Big things are expected from this princess out of St. Vincent and there has been a lot of hype associated with the pre-release of her latest track titled "Goody Goody PT 2"!
You will have your opportunity to give some feedback on the singers vocal performance and the music associated with the song and determine if the hype associated with the release of the song and talent of this young lady made it all worth the wait.
So here is the deal... Sky it or Try it? Love it or Hate it? Just another release or destined to become a hit for SVG Carnival 2013? What is your take on the song? I will give my opinion on this song/music that is being marketed as 'Vincy Ragga Soca' here but some folks will not like what I have to say. Here are my thoughts on the song.
This is a good effort but does not have the feel of a hit track.. Some may say that the song is average and sounds like a lot of new releases out there. However, I have to state that I can't walk away after hearing the song and find myself singing something (from the song) just for the hell of it! In other words there isn't even a hook to capture the consumer/listener of the music! A good effort does not necessarily translate into a good song. The music producer needs to find the right formula for her high pitch singing voice - that is not the case for this song - they did not come up with the right formula for this track!
Simply put, from start to finish, the song sounds the same! I did not get any variety, and her voice remained in that high tone area! The singing performance did not 'vibe' with the lyrics. In other words and more importantly, I did not detect any emotional connect with the lyrical content!
The music on the track is 'good enough'; this song will get its fair share of play in the parties (because of heavy promotion and her contacts) but I don't think it has what it takes to claim the crown of break out artist for this year much less become a hit for SVG Carnival 2013!
