I am not doing the post to point fingers or to apologize for what happened today. I do believe that in every family we sometimes have to be mature enough to criticize and take criticism. Today Kent the Juice asked me to apologize and I did. I did not have to but I did! However, the same was not reciprocated to the listening audience for what took place on air during the show... so be it.
On the show last night, it was more of the same and it made me feel that Trinidadians living on the outside have to tow the line cast out by Trinidadians living in the homeland... I just don't get it. However, from my vantage point I do believe that they don't get it.. so where do we go from here? The answer lies in the original reason for this post and the song played by Mr. Desmond. I don't agree with Mr. Desmond's rationale but the song speaks for and to all of us.
If you are reading this post and feel confused don't worry. It is a case of two different sides of the same coin and learning coping mechanisms to agree to disagree at times. There are times we may not always agree about how the cultural activities/events should be disseminated on the radio however, always remember that we all love Trinidad and Tobago!
Kent, Deso and especially Mr. Ellsworth James (always remain calm and reserved Ellsworth) keep the culture alive and may you always prosper in your endeavors. This song is for the radio personalities at WACK Radio. Keep up the good work!
