The only question I have for this is how are they going to judge the best new song when it encompasses both the Calypsonians and Soca artists? The best new song will come from a pool of Calypso, Power Soca and Ragga Soca songs... it should be an interesting decision! I would like to know the criteria that they are going to use to determine the 'Best New Song for Carnival 2012.
"Auditions for Calypsonians and Soca Artistes participating in this year’s “Best New Song” competition organized by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) will take place today.
A release from the CDC says registration forms must be accompanied by a copy of the song on a CD, which should be ready for airplay.
The “Best New Song” competition, forms part of the official opening of Vincy Mas which is scheduled for Saturday May 5Th."
