"Panorama Champions Repeat" | All Stars Win Again!

All Stars have done it again! The Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars managed to retain their title as best playing steel band for Panorama 2012.  All Stars, as they are fondly known, scored 279 points to beat out favorites Petrotin Phase II Pan Groove that managed second place with a score of 274 points. This was a night to remember as Neal and Massy All Stars took the first prize of TT $1M leaving Phase II Pan Groove hurting once again.

The competition was close and difficult to call but in the end All Stars had the brightest glow in the early hours of Sunday morning. In third place was PCS Nitrogen Silver Stars with 271 points. I am sure that most of the supporters from down South are upset and think that the title was taken away from them. That's just the way the steel pan competition goes and there are always disappointed fans.

In the Medium category (they performed first last night), Katzenjammers repeated their success from last year and secured first place with 288 points. It should be noted here that steel bands from the sister isle of Tobago took both first and second places in the medium bands category with NLCB Buccononeers placing second. Congratulations to the bands coming from Tobago!
The results are listed below for both Medium and Large bands:
Medium Band Category
1. Katzenjammers - 'This is Bacchanal' - 288 points
2. NLCB Buccooneers -284
3. Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille -279

Large Band Category
1. Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars - ' Play Yourself' - 279 points
2. Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove -274
3. PCS Nitrogen Silver Stars -271
