Now before you call the police to report a crime the answer is a resounding no - I did not post the incorrect song. Rest assured, this is not Machel Montano! Yes, it does sound like Machel but it is the 2012 musical offering from the artiste known as Zan!Zan, the "Property" man, started his career at the very young age of 16 with the group 'Relativity" and has done various forms of music. From Relativity came he formed the group Fusion with his childhood friend Keron Goodoosingh. This new group gave the music world a humorous track entitled 'Doubles', a track he explained "was an effort to expand my range and give vent to my natural expression."
His talents extended not only to performing but writing songs for many well known groups and singers like H2O Flow, Tony Prescott and Destra and Shal Marshall. This talented son of Trinidad has been lurking in the background for some time now and intends to shake up next year's Carnival with his offering for Carnival 2012 entitled "Property".
Property is a groovy track that is really needed in a festival that has recently been dominated by "Power Soca" music. I really like this track and so will you. The theme of the song rests on the Trinidadian's desire to always want to wuk it up and wine on his woman - nothing new here but the rhythm is the key to the song - really nice indeed.
"Whole day is wine and wuking up" - Well what else do you expect for Carnival? If you love wining and wuking up behind a big truck then this track by Zan is sure to have you 'grooving to the beat'. It is a melodious track and one that feels groovy. This is not a Power Soca track - it is sweet and velvety smooth.
The wining and wuking up is not brash and outrageous as with some of the other Soca tracks I recently heard. It is a recommended track - nice, sweet, smooth and groovy.
The son of the great one produced this track... Kernal Roberts wrote and produced the song with help from ZZ Keller and Joel Veveck. The song was done at Rama Studios & Black Diamond.
