Done D Party | Fayann Lyons Alvarez | T'dad 2014

This is the first song that I have listened to that made me feel like I am listening to a true Carnival feting and bacchanal song! The song has it all the lyrics tell a story and it sticks to the party/feting story line. Fayann has a really nice singing style ("and she cute fuh so eh!"). This style of Soca can be termed 'mash up de place Soca'!

So Fayann wants to start the part right now and threatens to 'wine on somebody man' - I think not! "Let's go, let's go" and if she has her way she will really start and end the party for sure. As I mentioned previously this one feels like carnival. The music produced by Stadic studios and Wetty Beatz captured the rhythm of Trinidad's bacchanal groove - the music is wicked!

Well after listening to this song several times and comparing it to Bunji's new track (Its A Carnival) this is what I think... Bunji's song may make it big on the international scene but it will not be nearly as big as this song by Fayanne for Carnival.... "Done D Party" will "stink up de place, mash up plenty fetes and become a monster hit for the road" while Bunji's track will be banging in the club circuit! This is Carnival music so my vote is with Fayann and did I mention that she is cute?

Do you like what you heard or as Socapro on Islandmix.com commented that he thought Fayann was too much into a 'Rapso mode' on the track. Dedettriniking (also on islandmix) commented: "Zero melody....zero music.....just a straight rhythm with Rapso delivery...and not pretending to be nothing else. It should work in a sweaty fete or on the road"(sic). If you are not into one-liners but would prefer just one work to describe this song then I will go with "Dope"(sic) - that was a direct quote from 'Corrupt file' on islandmix.com.

So what do you think about this one? Is it a chip and fete track or just a good J'ouvert jam that, drunk or sober, will leave you with some treasured memories (just thinking ahead)? Do you have an opinion and wish to share it? If your answer is yes then please use the comment feature of this post to leave your remarks.
