Thiefing Ah Wine | Stephen Marcelle | Trinidad Carnival 2013

Here is a very 'sweet track' from Stephen Marcelle for Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival 2013; the name of the song is 'Thiefing Ah Wine'. For some reason this song/general feel of the music reminds me of Kerwin Dubois.  Listen to the song and judge for yourself.

When one considers the amount of new music already released with the flow continuing at a very torrid pace it is difficult to keep pace of the songs that may or may not have impact for Carnival 2013. I have found that many people living in Trinidad and only recently catching up with some of the songs posted on this blog two weeks ago. Taking that into consideration it is easy to see how a song like this one could easily fall through the cracks with the Trinidad audience. The radio stations are not playing many of the newly released music!

This song is not a game changer but it is a very well put together song. It has a nice groovy tempo while the lyrics and music are just what the doctor ordered for Carnival.

Pros:
I like this song. It has a nice groovy tempo and the lyrics and music have a 'feel good' groove that should do well in fetes and in the clubs.

Cons:
It is not going to be easy for this singer/song to get the desired airplay to put it on the Trinidad and Tobago music map. This is sad but a fact especially with so many song being released every  day. If you don't believe me just check islandmix.com daily and try and keep track of the songs released daily for carnival 2013.

Bottom Line:
This is a good song with a sweet groovy vibe, good lyrics and a singer that put on a very good vocal performance.
