Continuing with our quick and dirty posts for all the new music releases, we’re back inside the smooth vibe of the Douseur Riddim—this time with fan favorite Turner. He glides effortlessly over the riddim with a track titled “Wineing Babie,” bringing that unmistakable Trinidad flavor to a groove built for the road.
Trinidad‑style carnivals are all about the whining babies, and Turner, along with producer Juelio, covers this one well. Turner sings about the rhythm of the road and the captivating way a woman moves—her waistline, her energy, her fire. He compares her motion to lava, capturing that molten, magnetic pull that defines Carnival dance culture.
Turner is a fan favorite, and maybe — just maybe — the radio stations will find favor with this one and give it the airplay it needs to move. It has the vibe, it has the sweetness, and it fits neatly into the Douseur Riddim’s silky lane.
We only have one complaint, and it’s becoming a trend in Soca today: the song is too short, running just 2:24. Just as you settle into the groove, it’s gone.
What do you think—does “Wineing Babie” work for you, or would you prefer it to be longer?
