It's that time, my friends—the season when Jab Soca takes center stage. From now until September, before the new wave of Carnival 2027 releases hit YouTube, we shift into a different frame of mind. This season is not the realm of finesse or groove‑driven sweetness. This is the world of the Jab masquerader—a mindset forged in heat, ritual, rebellion, and blackened oil.
Today, we open the gates with one of the most iconic voices from the Spice Isle: Talpree, delivering his Spicemas and SVG anthem, “Take Jab.”
This track carries everything that defines the Jab tradition—the tension, the anticipation, and the electricity of a nation preparing to paint the streets black. Written by Talpree himself, the song reflects decades of mastery and a catalog of Jab Soca classics that few can rival.
Behind the boards, the production is equally formidable. Rajiv “Suhrawh” Sutherland handles production, mixing, and mastering, with additional creative fire from executive producer Rasheid “Rawsheid” Sutherland.
