We Heard “My Home”—Now You Tell Us: Does It Hit or Miss?

I am not going to complicate things or go too in-depth with this song. While I appreciate the concept of "My Home," I must admit that it lacks a hook or vibe that resonates with my emotions. "My Home" aims to celebrate love for country and culture, portraying the Caribbean as a place to be grounded, where sweet music and positive energy are the norm. The songwriting team attempts to tug at our hearts and love for the country and invites listeners to come and party, to feel the rhythm and melody that define home.

I understand it and admire the direction the songwriters want to take us; I really do!  But here’s the thing: while the message is clear, the emotional connection isn’t. Here is my critique of the song: “My Home” lacks a memorable hook or captivating vibe that leaves a lasting impression. The vibe feels more like a gentle nod than a full embrace. I wanted to feel the warmth, the pride, the pull of nostalgia—but the music didn’t quite take me there.

That said, music hits differently for everyone. Maybe you’ll hear something I didn’t. Listen and let us know—does “My Home” move you?

Let us spread awareness of the culture of the Caribbean diaspora.
We do this to promote Caribbean culture, musicians, and music producers. We are able to honor and promote the rich sounds and stories of the Caribbean thanks to your support. Together, we can ensure that this rich cultural legacy reaches a wider audience and fosters creativity and connections. While it is important to always purchase music, you should avoid sharing promotional music because doing so denies essential revenue to songwriters, producers, and artists.  You can find all of our posts online on social media platforms like FacebookYouTubeInstagramSpotify, and SoundCloud.
