From “Ah Cyar Wine” to “Ah Doh Wine” — A Classic Reborn

Back in 1987, Delamo made waves at the Calypso Monarch Finals with “Ah Cyar Wine”—a bold, witty anthem about setting a positive example and refusing to whine for the crowd. Fast-forward to 2025, and Jadee (yes, the Foodie Nation fave!) has teamed up with MX Prime to revive this gem with a modern twist: “Ah Doh Wine.”
The song retains the same message but embraces a new sense of madness. With the country in chaos—electricity issues, social stress, and Carnival pressure—Jadee asks: "why yuh want him to whine just because it’s ‘wining season’?" He’s not here to make a scene… he’s here to make sense.
Jadee sings, "They tell me to dance provocatively despite the high levels of crime in the area." Some people want me to misbehave while the country is in chaos. He’s not here to make a scene—he’s here to make sense. So don't tell Jadee to whine simply because it is whining season... he might wine on somebody's woman and they might want to send him to heaven... now, we can't have that, right! LOL...
This re-adaptation isn’t just a musical update. It’s a cultural baton pass. The music for this version is solid and feels like pure bacchanal, but at the same time it is a reminder that Soca can be clever, conscious, and still carry a groove. This track, written by Jadee and MX Prime, adapted from Franz “Delamo” Lambkin, produced and mixed by MX Prime, and mastered by Johann Seaton, is a masterclass in musical respect and modern relevance.
