Today we celebrate a new era for culture in Trinidad and Tobago. We appreciate the decision of the 'powers that be' for this candidate selection. Because of their decisions, today we congratulate Mr. Kenny Phillips on his appointment as Chairman of the Board at NAPA (National Academy for the Performing Arts), Trinidad and Tobago. This well-deserved recognition reflects a deep appreciation for Kenny’s profound insight into the music and culture of Trinidad and Tobago—a legacy built through decades of dedication as a celebrated music producer and the visionary behind WACK Visual Radio.
Kenny's radio debut has helped spread our culture globally. To this day, with KMP music studios, carnival and cultural livestreams, and a rock-solid radio platform, he continues to amplify voices, rhythms, and stories that define the Caribbean experience. He now brings his treasure trove of stored history, entrepreneurship, and raw talent to the leadership team at NAPA. With team support, his leadership at NAPA promises a renewed commitment to culturally rich programming, elevating performances and events that reflect the heart of the nation.
Kenny has done it all, and his role in culture is a story that needs to be told. From grassroots talent to national icons, Kenny’s dedication to showcasing the soul of the nation has been unwavering. His leadership skills and continued optimism promise a vibrant new chapter for NAPA—one where cultural programming is not only renewed but also reimagined with authenticity, innovation, and heart.
We believe that Kenny will successfully shape the future. We look forward to continued progress and bold ventures at NAPA—infused with authenticity, innovation, and the unmistakable culture of our people and our Trinidad and Tobago cultural heritage.
