Island Vybe Philly Caribbean radio station, wrapped up the summer of 2025 in fine dining style. The sweet smell of Caribbean cuisine doused Chalmers Park with Caribbean culinary delights. On Sunday, the park was transformed into a kaleidoscope of Caribbean culture, rhythm, and flavor as Island Vybe Philly Radio hosted its Third Annual Caribbean Food Festival—a vibrant celebration that brought together food lovers, music enthusiasts, and community champions from across the region.
From the moment the event began, our vibrant Caribbean energy filled the park. The aroma of jerk chicken, doubles, roti, and other island delicacies filled the air as vendors proudly displayed the best of Caribbean cuisine. Each dish told a story—of heritage, of home, of the hands that prepared it with love and tradition. As the saying goes, "Better Belly Buss than Good Food Waste!"
This festival incorporated our entire Caribbean culture. It was and will continue to be a festival that is fueled by music, and our community of Island Vybe DJs and guest artists lit up the stage with electrifying performances that had attendees dancing, singing, and waving flags in joyful unity. The music served as more than just entertainment; it was also a vital force that united generations and cultures in a collective celebration of Caribbean identity. If you were there celebrating our culture, you would have had the opportunity to meet rising Soca star Anika Berry. A special presentation was made to the beautiful Anika Berry, who delivered one of the hottest songs for Carnival 2025 in Trinidad. Her song, "Saddle," established her as a leader in the Soca scene. Her award was well deserved.
We must applaud all the vendors, volunteers, and Vybe families who supported this event. An incredible collective effort powered the festival's success. Vendors brought not only food but also crafts, fashion, and cultural items that added color and texture to the event. Everyone had a good time, and the festival only happened because of those who volunteered and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything went as planned. Everyone, from the moment of arrival for setup to the final cleanup, demonstrated a deep love and professionalism for the culture and, equally important, the success of the event.
The Island Vybe Board of Directors extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the day unforgettable:
- Supporters and participants whose energy and love filled the park
- Sponsors who believed in the vision and helped bring it to life
- Guest artists and DJs who turned the event into a musical masterpiece
- The security teams ensured that the celebration was safe and stress-free.
- The event was made possible by the generous sharing of Chalmers Park's space by its friends.
Do you think that the organizers were pleased with the outcome? Indeed, they understood that community support could transform the event into a topic of conversation among the US diaspora. It was a memorable day filled with laughter, flavor, and unity for our one Caribbean people. Despite our diverse origins, we united as a single people, demonstrating that this festival transcended mere events to become a movement. This event serves as a testament to the synergy that occurs when culture, community, and creativity come together.
Looking back at the outcome of this event guarantees a positive future for it. Island Vybe Philly is already looking ahead to the 4th Annual Caribbean Food Expo in 2026, promising even more flavor, fun, and family. Until then, the spirit of “One Team, One Vybe” lives on—in every beat, every bite, and every memory made.
From the management and team at Island Vybe Philly Radio and everyone involved in the event, thank you, and see you next year!
