In Northern Trinidad, the sweet sounds of steel bands will be competing for the title of best steel band for Panorama 2025, while at Skinner Park in San Fernando, the Chutney Soca Monarch finals will take place. The grand finale of the Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) 2025 is set at Skinner Park, San Fernando; the vibes are electrifying, and the countdown is on. This year’s competition promises to be nothing short of legendary, with a lineup of 14 finalists ready to bring their A-game to the stage.
As we stated in a previous post, it will be an epic showdown at the Chutney Soca Monarch 2025, where Machel Montano aims to dethrone reigning monarch Rick Ramoutar as nine-time champion Rikki Jai returns to the competition stage. The event promises to showcase the best of Chutney Soca music, leaving the audience captivated.
Among the contenders, Machel Montano, the undisputed King of Soca, is making his debut in the Chutney Soca arena, while Rick Ramoutar, the reigning monarch, is determined to defend his crown. Montano’s entry has already elevated the competition’s prestige, drawing in a new wave of fans and adding an extra layer of excitement to this cultural showdown. Rick Ramouter is ready and would relish the opportunity to win it all again and emphatically state that he beat Machel Montano, even though this is Machel's first entry to the competition.
The event kicks off at 9 PM, with gates opening earlier to welcome fans from all walks of life. For the first time in its history, the finals will be broadcast globally, ensuring that Chutney Soca enthusiasts worldwide can join in the celebration.
Will Machel Montano’s star power and undeniable talent earn him the title of Chutney Soca Monarch King? Or will Rick Ramoutar’s experience and determination secure him a repeat victory? However, could one of the women surprise the men, or could Rikki Jai rise to the challenge and claim the title of Chutney Soca Monarch for the tenth time? Tonight, Skinner Park will undoubtedly be the center of Indo-Caribbean music, with an unparalleled energy.
