Blaka Dan Wins the First Ultimate Soca Monarch 2025: Greenz to the World!

On Fantastic Friday in Trinidad and Tobago, the announcement confirmed what everyone already knew and expected: Blaka Dan had won the inaugural Ultimate Soca Monarch Competition! Before the competition took place, his song, "Blessing," surprisingly took off on radio in the twin island republic, raising awareness and creating a buzz that had every carnival lover, every Soca music lover, singing this song. When he took the stage, the audience was in sync with the performance. The young man, born in Grenada,  nurtured in Chaguanas, Trinidad, and returning to his homeland of Grenada at age 18 to pursue a Soca music career, rose to the occasion and conquered a cast of singers considered to be the crème de la creme. He was the best performer and deserving of the title, Ultimate Soca Monarch 2025!

Everyone had him as the winner with his electrifying stage performance at the Queens Park Savannah on Thursday, February 2025. This win not only enriches him with TT one million dollars but also has promotions that would enhance his career and shine the light on his career, making him a known international star from the Caribbean. 

The rising star and surprise artist for Carnival 2025, Yung Bredda, came in second and was also named BMobile People's Choice Winner. Despite acknowledging Blaka Dan's superior performance, the crowd's hearts belonged to Sea Lots and Yung Bredda, the rising star. Preedy, the singer we thought would be a star when he first debuted on the Soca scene, placed third. 

Despite the fierce competition, Preedy's unique style and infectious energy continue to resonate with fans, ensuring his place in the spotlight for future events. As Carnival 2025 wraps up, it’s clear that the Soca scene is vibrant and full of talent, with emerging artists like Yung Bredda paving the way for a new generation of performers.
