Yesterday, at the Queens Park Savannah, the diminutive powerhouse singer, Xhaiden Darius, wowed the audience and the judges to win the National Junior Calypso Monarch for Trinidad and Tobago's 2025 Carnival. Xhaiden mesmerized those in attendance, those watching TTT at home, and the international online audience with a song titled "Calypso Will Survive." He was the conqueror; he was a diminutive Bardjohn of Calypso and delivered a "Kurt-Allenesque" performance to wrest the national title from defending monarch Nataki Thompson.

With performances like 8-year-old Xhaiden's and all the youngsters taking part in the competition, one can conclude that the future of Calypso is in excellent hands. Congratulations are extended to all the young singers and especially the winner, Xhaiden Darius. Kaiso, Kaiso!
