The Shell Invaders Steel Orchestra recently delivered a captivating preliminary performance of Blaka Dan's "Blessing" at the Panorama 2025 Large Band category. This rendition, arranged by the talented Arddin Herbert, has been a standout, showcasing the band's exceptional skill and creativity.
This was a tune of choice that surprised many. However, Arddin Herbert's arrangement brings a fresh, dynamic energy to the piece, highlighting the unique tonal qualities of the steelpan and the rhythmic complexity of Soca music.
The performance was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience, who were visibly moved by the Invaders' powerful interpretation. As the competition progresses, Shell Invaders' rendition of "Blessing" is certainly one to watch.
